Kelsey Grammer was hospitalized in New York on Monday after he began feeling faint, his rep told Usmagazine.com.
“Kelsey felt faint last night so he went to the hospital to have things checked out," his rep told Usmagazine.com. "They are altering his medications."
The "Cheers" and "Frasier" star, who had a heart attack about two months ago, is expected to be released on Tuesday, his rep adds.
"Entertainment Tonight," which first reported the story, said Grammer was forced to cancel four television appearances. The actor was in town to promote "Swing Vote."
Just last week, Grammer told ET his health scare was a lot more serious than was first reported.
"We originally said it was just a mild heart attack, and it actually wasn't very mild," he said. "They had to blast me twice and get me started all over again.
"I did think: 'Oh gosh, I have got to hang on. I've got too much junk I've got to take care of. I've got to take care of the family."
Also last week, Grammer said his heart attack was caused by stress over his recently canceled sitcom "Back to You," he told People magazine.
"It was a very stressful time for me, and a surprise to me [that it was canceled]," the actor, 53, said Wednesday. "But you know, everything that doesn't kill us — which it almost did — makes us stronger."
The show, which also starred "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress Patricia Heaton, featured Grammer as a pompous TV news anchor. It was canceled in May after only one season and respectable ratings.
"Not happy about it," said Grammer. "I had a heart attack, maybe you heard. I was not happy about it."
