Jury selection has begun in the retrial of a man accused of raping and strangling a fellow Eastern Michigan University student.

Twenty-one-year-old Orange Taylor III is charged with murder in the December 2006 death of 22-year-old Laura Dickinson. The first jury deadlocked.

The U.S. Education Department fined Eastern Michigan $357,500 for covering up the death. The case led to the removal of university President John Fallon and others.

The trial is taking place before Washtenaw County Circuit Judge Archie Brown.
