A love triangle gone awry is to blame for a murder-suicide that left a woman and two men dead in an apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side, the New York Post reports.

Sources told the Post 46-year-old Debra Silver's jealous lover shot her and her other boyfriend before turning the gun on himself, Friday evening.

The unidentified killer dropped by Silver's apartment Saturday evening and became irate when he saw her and another man, 57, getting ready to have dinner, the sources told the Post.

Officers reportedly found the dead jealous lover, 55, sitting in a chair with a gunshot wound to the head and a 9mm handgun on his lap.

Silver was shot once in the face and once in the torso and the other man had a gunshot wound to his torso, police said. Both were found on the floor near the gunman.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
