Iraqi Cameraman Dies in Baghdad Clashes

An Iraqi satellite TV channel says one of its cameramen has been killed in fighting in eastern Baghdad.

A correspondent for the Afaq TV station says Wissam Ali Auda was killed yesterday by sniper fire. He says the 30-year-old cameraman apparently got caught in crossfire on his way home.

The U.S. military says 11 suspected gunmen were killed in fighting with Shiite militia fighters.

The Afaq station is affiliated with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's Dawa party.

At least 128 journalists and 50 media workers have been killed in Iraq since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, according to the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists.
