Remember the Florida election supervisor whose confusing butterfly ballot contributed to the turmoil of the 2000 presidential election?

Palm Beach County voters do — and they've shown Theresa LePore (search) the door.

LePore was the inventor of the butterfly ballot that confused voters in Palm Beach County in 2000. Some complained they mistakenly voted for conservative third-party candidate Pat Buchanan instead of Democrat Al Gore. Gore lost in Florida by a mere 537 votes.

Despite her loss, LePore will remain in office until January and will oversee the November election in the county. And Palm Beach County now has touchscreen voting machines.
