Police have reopened the investigation into the death of a 22-year-old Indianapolis woman after her father was charged with attempting to hire someone to kill his ex-wife.
Fifty-six-year-old tow truck driver Robert L. Quarles is being held without bond at the Marion County Jail on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
Investigators say they learned Quarles wanted to have his ex-wife killed when an acquaintance heard Quarles talking about the plot and called police. Police say Quarles offered an undercover officer $1,500 to kill his ex-wife.
Police are also re-examining the May 10 death of Jessica Quarles. The woman, described as mentally challenged, drowned in a bathtub after being placed there by a caregiver.
