Police in Connecticut have confirmed that a skull found in a bloody basement where they believe sacrificial rituals were performed is a human skull.

Bridgeport Detective Keith Bryant says the medical examiner's office made the determination Wednesday. Now there is an anthropological review to try to determine the sex and age of the person and when he or she died.

Bryant says a headless body was found in Bridgeport about a decade ago, but it's not clear if there is a connection to the skull found during a drug raid Tuesday. Five people were charged with drug and gun crimes.

Police believe Santeria or some kind of voodoo religion was practiced there. They also found Satanic writings and a beheaded chicken with its blood draining into a bowl.
