TOKYO – Honda Motor Co. says it is adding 17,000 more cars in Japan and elsewhere to an existing global recall for faulty airbags, bringing the latest round of recalls to 437,000.
Wednesday's announcement in Tokyo came after Honda said Tuesday that it is adding more than 378,000 cars to the recall in the U.S. and Canada.
Japan's No. 2 automaker said it was recalling 4,000 cars in Japan, affecting three models here.
Honda originally announced the recall to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in November of 2008, and since then it has grown to 952,118.
