Tonight ... "The O'Reilly Factor" is on...
Was the recent shooting of an unarmed man in Compton, California (search), a hate crime? That's what the Rev. Jesse Jackson (search) said yesterday. He is calling the shooting of an unarmed driver, who led sheriff's deputies on a chase, "a hate crime." Jackson met with the man at a hospital where he is recovering from four gunshot wounds. A videotape of the incident shows deputies firing more than 120 rounds at the man's car at the end of a 12-minute pursuit. This is not the first time that Jackson has been back in the news lately... Is he trying to lend a hand where it's needed around the nation or trying to ignite a race war? We'll debate it.
Plus, in the wake of the deadly shooting of a Denver police officer recently by an illegal immigrant an anti-immigration group plans protest in Denver today against the city's "sanctuary city" designation. We'll have the latest for you.
Also, jury selection gets underway today in Tampa, Florida in the federal trial of former University of South Florida professor Sami Al-Arian (search). The controversial professor has been in custody since 2003 awaiting trial on terrorism charges. The computer scientist had established an Islamic academic think tank, a school, a mosque and a charity for Palestinian children. But authorities say his true mission was financing terrorist attacks in Israel. Now, one Florida newspaper has been accused of acting as a favorable public relations outlet for Al-Arian's side of the story... We'll have the latest on this shocking development.
