Environmentalists are slamming American Airlines after reports that it flew a plane from Chicago to London with just five passengers on board, The Telegraph reported on Wednesday.
The Friends of the Earth group is accusing the air carrier of an "obscene waste of fuel" after American on Feb. 9 cancelled one of its four daily services on the route. The airline had five passengers left after finding replacement flights for the other affected travelers, and put those extras on their own spacious fight, The Telegraph reported.
