Grammy-winning singer Natalie Cole was reportedly hospitalized in New York Friday, her reps told People.
The 50 year old, who was diagnosed with hepatitis C, has been keeping a strenuous schedule promoting her new album "Still Unforgettable," and that, coupled with her chemotherapy treatments, is what led to the hospitalization, People reported.
Cole postponed her October performances and is expected to return to her Los Angeles home, where she will be on a one-month bed rest, one of her reps told People.
Hepatitis C is a liver disease spread through contact with infected blood. Cole's disease was revealed during a routine examination and was likely caused by her drug use years ago, according to a statement issued shortly after her diagnosis.
Cole, 58, the daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole, has sold millions of records over her long career.
