Giuliani to Pay Tribute in Superbowl Ad

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani won't be delivering his resume when he appears on a jobs Web site commercial to air on the Super Bowl, but he will be talking about his last employer.

Monster.com is buying a 30-second spot to air in the Super Bowl in which Giuliani will thank Americans for helping New York after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

"This isn't a commercial, it's a tribute," said Andrew McKelvey, chairman and chief executive of TMP Worldwide, the job site's parent company. McKelvey said Giuliani wrote the script himself.

Highly touted for his handling of the recovery efforts that followed the Sept. 11 tragedy that downed the World Trade Center in New York, Giuliani is also working on his book, titled Leadership, due out June 5.

"The book is essentially the principles Giuliani has worked through, and how he has adhered to them through his career, and how they came into play in the aftermath of the World Trade Center," said Jonathan Burnham, president of Talk Miramax Books.

Leadership, which focuses on Giuliani's management principles, will have an initial printing of 500,000, according to Burnham.  Giuliani is also expected to pen a memoir, having received $2.7 million for the two-book deal.

The $350,000 that Giuliani was to receive for the Monster.com ad will be donated to the Twin Towers Fund, which supports families of uniformed personnel lost in the attacks.
