STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – A missing 4-year-old boy in Henry County has been found alive.
David Tippin (search) was found before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in a vacant house about half a mile from his home in Stockbridge. He is said to be dehydrated but otherwise in good condition.
The boy had been missing since Sunday morning. Authorities believe the child opened a back door of his house and wandered away.
The parents told police the boy was last seen about 2 a.m. Sunday when they checked on him. They told police they went to the boy's room about 8 a.m. to wake him up for church and found he had unlocked a back door.
Authorities called the land search off for the boy Monday. They had planned to concentrate on an area around a reservoir Tuesday.
Volunteers held a vigil for the boy Monday night.
