She said officers found him Friday afternoon, the apparent victim of suicide.
Manzanares, a former judge, resigned from the City Attorney's post in February after a stolen laptop was allegedly found in his possession. He had said he bought the computer from a man in a parking lot and did not know it was stolen, the station reported.
In addition to theft and embezzlement charges, the Harvard graduate had faced charges of tampering with evidence, official misconduct and computer crime. When the computer was confiscated from Manzanares it was discovered that someone had attempted to remove a large amount of pornography from the computer's hard drive.
