Florida Man Gets 11 Years for Smuggling Guns, Drugs in Septic Tank of Yacht
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – A Florida man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for smuggling drugs and guns in the septic tank of a yacht.
Terry Wayne Moore of Key Largo, Florida, was accused in May 2006 of importing two high-powered weapons, 135 rounds of ammunition and 135 pounds of cocaine. Authorities also found more than $15,000 in cash aboard a 30-foot yacht named Leyla.
A judge on Monday ordered the 35-year-old to forfeit the yacht and pay $33,000 to the government of Barbados.
