A fire roared through a Maryland concrete plant early Saturday, causing one building to collapse and setting ablaze surrounding buildings, according to firefighters.
Anne Arundel County Fire Department Battalion Chief Matthew Tobia said no one was hurt in the three-alarm blaze at Concrete Works Inc. in Glen Burnie, Md.
He also said there was no indication any hazardous chemicals were released.
Nearly 80 firefighters were battling the blaze at the plant, which was closed when the fire was reported around 5:40 a.m. ET.
Tobia said a large concrete-mixing structure was aflame, as was a conveyor system in an adjacent building.
