LONDON – Five men accused of plotting the failed July 21 bombing attacks on London are set to stand trial next September.
A judge set the provisional date when the suspects appeared before a London court via a videolink from Belmarsh Prison.
Muktar Said Ibrahim, 27, of Stoke Newington, north London; Ramzi Mohamed, 23, of North Kensington, west London; Yassin Omar, 24, of New Southgate, north London, and Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, of Finsbury Park, north London, last appeared before a court on August 8.
Ibrahim, Mohamed and Omar each face four charges - attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to endanger life by using explosives and making or possessing explosives with intent to endanger life.
Asiedu is charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life.
The fifth man, Hussein Osman, 27, appeared before Belmarsh Magistrates in September after being extradited from Rome, where he had been detained under a European Arrest Warrant.
Osman faces charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to murder.
He also faces four charges under the Explosive Substances Act and a seventh charge alleging that he was in possession of explosives "for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism".
