An ex-teacher at a Detroit-area junior high school has been acquitted of sending explicit photos to a former student.

The Macomb County jury made its decision Thursday, saying it believed the images sent by 41-year-old Michael O'Hanian were not "harmful" to the girl.

O'Hanian was found not guilty following a two-day trial.

The Macomb Daily reports the two images sent were of a man and woman engaged in oral sex.

O'Hanian's attorney, Steven Rabaut (ruh-BOH'), told jurors his client was an "idiot" and his sexual chats with the girl were "entirely inappropriate." But he said O'Hanian did not break the law.

After his arrest, O'Hanian moved to Ohio, where he is manager of laboratory testing at a design engineering company.
