A jury has convicted Dr. Stephen Scher of first-degree murder in the 1976 love-triangle death of a close friend.
Prosecutors say Scher killed 30-year-old Martin Dillon so he could marry Dillon's wife.
Scher argued that Dillon confronted him about his affair and was killed accidentally as the pair struggled over a shotgun.
The verdict in the northeast Pennsylvania retrial comes after just two hours of deliberation.
