The operator of one of the trains involved in a fatal monorail collision at Walt Disney World has issued a statement expressing his condolences to the victim's family.

The accident last weekend killed college student Austin Wuennenberg, who was operating one of the trains. The National Transportation Safety Board has said no mechanical problems were found with the trains or track.

The other train operator, 62-year-old Alan Rubino, issued a statement Friday through Dennis Pickering, another part-time monorail operator.

Pickering said Rubino "wishes to extend to the family and friends of Austin his deepest and heart-felt condolences."

Pickering also said it would be inappropriate for Rubino to comment further because of the investigation.
