Brazilian authorities say the left leg of a British teen who was dismembered has been found along the banks of a remote river near the central city of Goiania.

A Brazilian laborer walking in the area found the leg Sunday, a week after the torso of 17-year-old Cara Marie Burke was discovered in a suitcase near a different river.

Police inspector Carlos Raimundo Batista said Monday that authorities are confident the leg is Burke's.

Police say Mohammed D'Ali Carvalho dos Santos, 20, confessed he dumped Burke's head and limbs into the river. Police say Santos killed Burke because she threatened to tell his family that he was addicted to cocaine and dealing the drug.
