DETROIT – A suspended Detroit police sergeant has been bound over for trial on extortion and sexual assault charges after a woman said she was forced into a sex act.
Thirty-nine-year-old Roosevelt Tidwell is accused of forcing a sex act on a woman after an encounter in a park.
The eleven-year veteran of the department also faces a preliminary hearing for allegedly forcing 22- and 25-year-old women to engage in sex acts with their male friends.
Tidwell has been suspended without pay. He remains in the Wayne County Jail on bonds totaling 2.5 million dollars.
