Tough love from Courtney Love's ex, Whitney's hissy fit and Rubben Studdard's birthday in today's Foxlight.
The New York Post says Courtney Love (search) is in more trouble than usual. An old flame is begging her to go into rehab. The nice guy? Ed Norton. No comment from Ed, but the Post says she's been acting stranger than usual -- even for Courtney.
In June, Love issued a public apology to Norton and his ex, Salma Hayek, after Love told the Post Norton would never marry the Mexican actress because he "can barely understand what she's saying." Hey, she may need rehab, but that's comedy. And she was right.
Next, if you're going to get arrested, leave Whitney Houston at home. More details are coming to the Foxlight about that parole violation arrest with Bobby Brown (search). Turns out Bobby was good cop, Whitney had a fit. Wait, he was going to jail. The real cops on the scene were diplomatic: "To say that she was calm about it would be a misstatement," they said.
The pair were in a seafood restaurant. She was screaming and pointing fingers. Maybe they didn't get to finish the free dessert.
Finally, speaking of dessert, Ruben Studdard (search) sure has come a long way in a year. Last year on his birthday, he hadn't even auditioned for "American Idol" yet. This time around, he's getting the star treatment. Studdard will have a celebrity bash in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala., on September 12 to celebrate his 25th birthday. It will have a red carpet, media coverage and a Moroccan theme. Just don't expect to get any of the cake.
