Connecticut officials are planning to make H1N1 flu vaccinations available, free of charge, to the public.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell's office said the state is recruiting doctors and other health care providers to administer the vaccine when the federal government makes it available. The state could initially receive up to 1.8 million doses.

Rell said people most vulnerable to the H1N1 virus will be given first priority for the drug. They include pregnant women, young children, children with chronic medical conditions, caregivers for children and health care professionals.
Federal authorities expect an H1N1 vaccine will be licensed and ready for distribution by mid-fall.
