The Chicago suburb of Bannockburn has recorded the first murder in its history with the discovery of a man shot to death in the driveway of a home.
The body was found by a newspaper delivery person early Friday in a cul-de-sac of 13 homes.
Police Chief Kevin Tracz says none of the residents of the cul-de-sac knew the man, described as white and in his 30s.
Tracz says police canvassed the cul-de-sac and residents reported hearing two shots overnight. He says because none of the residents knew the man, authorities suspect he may have been riding in an vehicle on Illinois Highway 22 when he got into an argument, and was then driven to the location and shot.
It is the first murder in the 85-year history of the affluent community.
