LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Chicago-area adults looking for a little peace and quiet along with their fun in the sun need go no further than Lake Forest.
The northern Chicago suburb has designated part its public beach a kid-free zone this summer.
Officials with the city's Parks and Recreation Board say about a quarter of the city's nearly mile-long beach has been set aside for those 21 and older at the request of several residents.
There's no fencing or signs surrounding the adults-only zone, but beach staff have been told to keep an eye out for anyone under 21.
Staff will ask visitors to show proof of their age if they suspect and unauthorized youth is in their midst.
