These are the vehicles you might find, say, on the busy streets of India — but would never spot on the back roads of Indiana.

And while most Americans may never have heard of the Dutch manufacturer Spyker or Monaco's Venturi, some of the technology and design behind these companies' vehicles could point the way to the future of the American car industry.
