A California teenager accused of killing her 60-year-old mother and the boyfriend suspected of helping her were arrested Wednesday at a San Francisco-area shopping mall.
Tylar Witt, 14, and 19-year-old Steven "Boston" Colver were apprehended at a San Bruno strip mall just before 10 a.m. Wednesday in the murder of Joanne Witt of El Dorado Hills, Calif., according to FOX40 News.
Authorities believe the pair killed Joanne Witt and then fled in her car earlier this week. The vehicle was discovered in a construction zone in San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon, FOX40 reported.
The dead woman may have tried to press statutory rape charges against her daughter's boyfriend in the past, FOX40 has learned.
The teens' friends had encouraged them on Facebook and MySpace to surrender to police.
"We're all worried about you here," a Facebook friend wrote to Colver. "You once told me that you would never be capable of such a thing. Prove me right."
"You can't run forever," another wrote.
