An Everett man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to a break-in of a home overlooking Hood Canal in which more than $1 million in property was taken.
Thirty-five-year-old Gregory L. Burton pleaded guilty to residential burglary and first-degree theft before being sentenced in Kitsap County Superior Court Judge Sally F. Olsen.
Burton was among seven people charged with the Jan. 12 burglary of a home just west of Silverdale, Wash. A laptop, clothing, credit cards and 2008 Cadillac were among the items taken.
Detectives got a break in the case when one of the suspects was seen on a surveillance video using a stolen credit card from the home at a convenience store.
Burton's sentence is the longest doled out in the case. Twenty-four-year-old Dylan Downey of Olalla will be the last person to face charges stemming from the investigation.
