LONDON – British brothers who carried out a shocking attack on two fellow youngsters last year have been sentenced to a minimum of five years in custody.
The attackers, aged 10 and 11 at the time, lured their victims into a secluded area near the northern England town of Edlington before subjecting them to a sustained period of torture.
They robbed, beat and stabbed their victims with sticks and bricks. One 10-year-old child had a sink thrown onto his head, while his 9-year-old nephew was forced to eat nettles.
At one point during the April 4 assault the young tormentors tried to force their victims to have sex with each another. The boys survived the attack.
Neither the victims nor the children sentenced Friday may be named for legal reasons.
