Brenda Buttner was named senior business correspondent at FOX News Channel (FNC) in 2000 and contributes to Your World with Neil Cavuto, Cavuto on Business, in addition to serving as a substitute anchor each week with finance segments and market news.
She also hosts FNC's weekend show Bulls & Bears, providing viewers with insights to prepare them for Monday's opening bell each week. Prior to this role, Buttner served as host of The Street.com, a fast-paced FNC business show offering action-oriented insights and advice to help investors get an edge on Wall Street.
Before joining FNC, she hosted CNBC's The Money Club, and was a general correspondent from 1995-1998 and a Washington correspondent from 1990-1993. Buttner is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Cable Ace Award in 1996 for Best Business Programming and a National Clarion award in 1990 for Best News Story. In addition, many of her personal finance articles have been published in various popular magazines and newspapers including The New York Times and Ladies' Home Journal.
Buttner began her career as an anchor/reporter for KCRL-TV (NBC) in Reno, Nev. She graduated from Harvard University with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and then went on to be a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where she graduated with high honors with a BA in politics and economics.
