WASHINGTON – D.C. rescue crews are at a parking garage not far from the White House where a body was found under a shaft, beneath a platform that moves garage employees from floor-to-floor.
Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter says the parking garage is in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. It is adjacent to the Mills Building, a private office building across from the Old Executive Office Building.
Etter says garage employees found the man's body early Friday. He says it is not known if the man fell two stories into the shaft or was crushed by the platform. The man was not wearing a garage uniform.
Police are investigating the death.
