The minor league baseball park in Clinton, Iowa, is going peanut-free tonight, so peanut-allergic fans can enjoy the game with peace of mind.
No peanuts or peanut products will be served during the night game between the Clinton LumberKings and the Beloit Snappers. The stadium will be washed down to avoid any risks.
Organizer Christy Campie's 7-year-old son, Eric, has a life-threatening peanut allergy. She says he's passionate about baseball and attends the LumberKings' games, but has to be very cautious.
Campie says the event is being sponsored by two companies that specialize in manufacturing foods free of all the major food allergens.
