The Backstreet Boys will resume the group's "Black & Blue World Tour 2001" next month after band member A.J. McLean completes treatment for depression and alcohol abuse.

"We've spent some time with A.J. recently and he, along with the rest of us, is excited to return to our tour on Aug. 24," band member Brian Littrell said in a statement Tuesday.

The group postponed the tour July 9 when McLean entered an undisclosed treatment center.

"We want to give him his privacy to recover," the band's publicist, Marcee Rondan, said from her office in Los Angeles. "He's expected to be released sometime next week."

Black and Blue, the latest album from the Grammy-nominated group, has sold 8 million copies since it came out in November.
