At least one person has been crushed to death by a rock slide at a beach in Portugal's southern Algarve region and four people are missing, rescue workers told Sky News.
At least six people were also injured when part of a cliff crashed onto tourists on the packed Maria Luisa beach at Albufeira.
A 60-year-old man died during the tragedy at the popular beach destination.
About 20 firefighters are searching for those missing.
"We have one confirmed dead and we have information that four people are buried under the rock that collapsed," civil protection commander Artur Ricardo told Sky News.
"One is being taken out now, but we don't know if the person is alive."
