Fort Smith police say they've arrested a 19-year-old man for sneaking into an unlocked church on two different occasions and sleeping inside.

Joseph Frank Szafranski faces two felony counts of commercial burglary after officers arrested him early Wednesday morning. Szafranski told investigators he was homeless after having a falling out with his sister.

Police say Szafranski told investigators he would eat the food inside the church and take a shower. Officer say Szafranski also pushed away ceiling tiles to crawl into offices. Szafranski says he never stole anything, but police say he caused damage throughout the church during his explorations.

Szafranski was being held at the Sebastian County jail on $7,000 bond Thursday night.
