Administration Makes 'Pork' Disappear

A quick trip around Hannity's America...

Not Pork... Really!

It's a case of disappearing pork! Monday we told you about millions of stimulus dollars that had been directed to things like:

• $2.5 million for "ham, water added, cooked"
• $1.1 million for "two pounds frozen ham, sliced"
• $16.7 million for "canned pork"

The administration came under scrutiny for spending on those items and guess what? Tuesday, they're mysteriously absent from the Web site! The New York Daily News reports that they've all been relabeled "meat, poultry and fish."

Mr. President, is this what you meant by "change"?

Controversy in N.Y.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney's bid to unseat New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand could be over before it even starts.

Maloney, who is expected to announce her candidacy for the Senate next week, is now embroiled in a major controversy after she used the N-word in an interview when talking about her potential opponent.

The congresswoman was describing a call she received from somebody complaining about Senator Gillibrand and said, "I got a call from someone from Puerto Rico, [that] said [Gillibrand] went to Puerto Rico and came out for English-only [education]... And he said, 'It was like saying [the N-word] to a Puerto Rican.'"

Maloney issued an apology Tuesday saying she regrets repeating a word she finds "disgusting."

Mayo Says No Go

President Obama has made no secret of his admiration for the Mayo Clinic. In fact, he has repeatedly voiced his enthusiasm for the quality of care provided by the Minnesota-based clinic:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: There are some places like the Mayo Clinic, many of you have heard of, provides outstanding care, some of the best in the world. People fly in from everywhere to go to Mayo Clinic. Turns out Mayo provides care much more cheaply than a lot of other health systems.

Places like Mayo Clinic in Minnesota are able to provide some of the best health care services in the country.

Turns out, the feeling is not mutual. Mayo Clinic officials voiced fierce opposition to the health care scheme cooked up by Congress, writing that "the proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher quality, more affordable health care for patients... The real losers will be the citizens of the United States."

Mr. Obama would be wise to listen to the professionals he has praised so highly.

Liberal Lies

The Meltdown is brought to you by one angry and desperate Nobel Prize-winning economist.

Thomas Shelling recently revealed to the Atlantic Monthly that he's willing to say anything to promote the false science of global warming. He said, "It's a tough sell. And you probably have to find ways to exaggerate the threat. I sometimes wish that we could have, over the next five or 10 years... A lot of horrid things happen — you know like tornadoes in the Midwest and so forth — that would get people very concerned about climate change."

Wow, Mr. Shelling, you and Al Gore would make quite the tag team.

Not on Our Watch!

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius found out Tuesday at a town hall meeting just how popular the Obama administration's health care plan is. Listen to this:

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It would be a cold day in hell before he socializes my country.

KATHLEEN SEBELIUS, HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY: Excuse me. Excuse me. The Federal Employee Health System would stay in place. As were the other employer-based coverage.

Madam Secretary, I hope you have a plan B!
