The 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show begins this week, and Fox Car Report will be there to bring you all the news from the show.

From the production version of the Chevrolet Volt to the latest, and final version, of the 600hp Dodge Viper, this year's show is shaping up to be a great mix of green and mean.

Along with its groundbreaking electric car, Chevrolet will be introducing the Cruze, a conventional compact that is expected to get 40 mpg, while corporate cousin Cadillac rolls out the ultra-stylish CTS Coupe.

Ford is upping the power, and economy on the V6 version of the Mustang, with a new engine that gives it 305 hp and 30 mpg, and is bringing the Fiesta subcompact back to the US complete with European handling and peppy, fuel-sipping powerplants.

Volkswagen is taking the wraps off of two new concepts, while its diesel powered Golf TDI faces off against the Toyota Prius, Honda Insight, Mercury Milan Hybrid and Audi A3 for Green Car of the Year honors.

All that, plus debuts from Hyundai, Rolls Royce, Porsche, and the all new Toyota Sienna minivan - rumored to have a hybrid powertrain.

Take that, soccer moms.

Tune in to the Strategy Room on Thursday, Dec. 3rd for a special edition of Fox Car Report LIVE! from the LA Auto Show
