Milan, Italy – Inter Milan further bolstered its attack on Wednesday with the addition of Lazio striker Mauro Zarate on loan.
Zarate, 24, joins Inter on a season-long loan with an eye toward a permanent transfer to Inter next summer, which would cost the Nerazzurri around $21 million.
After losing striker Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi this summer, Inter has now acquired two key players on the final day of the transfer window, with Zarate joining former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan at the San Siro.
Zarate scored 25 goals and made over 100 appearances for Lazio since joining the club from Al-Sadd in 2008.
