The Yankees have found their left fielder for 2010 -- and it isn't Johnny Damon.
New York on Wednesday signed Randy Winn to a one-year deal which is believed to be in the $2 million range, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal has confirmed. The signing of Winn means Damon will not return to the team he helped lead to a World Series title less than three months ago.
Winn, 35, hit .262 with two home runs and 51 RBIs in 149 games for the Giants in 2009. An All-Star for the Devil Rays in 2002, Winn is a career .286 hitter in 11 big-league seasons.
From a power standpoint, the Yankees will lose some pop in their lineup. Damon hit 24 home runs in 2009 and drove in 82 runs.
