(SportsNetwork.com) - Tiger Woods will make his next start at The Players Championship next month.
Woods made the announcement Friday on his Twitter account.
"Looking forward to going back to THE PLAYERS this year, hoping for a repeat of 2013," he wrote.
Woods won The Players Championship two years ago in his last appearance at the TPC Sawgrass. He missed last year's tournament because of a back injury that sidelined him for much of the 2014 season.
The former world No. 1 has played just three events this year while struggling with injuries and his confidence. He missed the cut in Phoenix at the end of January, then withdrew from the following week's event at Torrey Pines before a lengthy absence to work on his game.
Woods returned at the Masters earlier this month and finished tied for 17th. He is not qualified for next week's World Golf Championship-Match Play event because his lack of activity over the past two years has dropped his world ranking to 106th.
The Players Championship will start May 7.
