Seattle, WA – The Chicago White Sox have placed outfielder day disabled list due to a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder.
The move to place Quentin, who turns 29 Sunday, on the DL is retroactive to August 21. He was hurt making a diving catch in an August 20 game against Texas.
In 117 games this season, Quentin is batting .255 with 24 homers and 77 RBI.
With the open roster spot, the White Sox recalled infielder/outfielder Dayan Viciedo from Triple-A Charlotte. He batted .297 with 20 home runs, 78 RBI and 60 runs scored in 118 games with Charlotte this season.
