Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will be sidelined for at least a month after undergoing surgery on Saturday to repair a broken bone in his right hand.
Westbrook was hurt during the first half of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Saturday's procedure took place at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
General manager Sam Presti said Saturday in a release that Westbrook will be further evaluated in four weeks before his status will be updated.
Westbrook scored 38 points in Wednesday's season opener against Portland.
The Thunder were already without reigning MVP Kevin Durant, who had foot surgery during the preseason.
