In the six seasons Ruben Tejada has been with the Mets, he's never received an ovation quite like he did before Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday.
Tejada, who broke his leg in a collision at second base with Dodgers infielder Chase Utley in Game 2, won't be able to play for the rest of the postseason, but he was present in the Mets dugout for Game 3 on Monday.
As the team was introduced to the Citi Field contingent, Tejada hobbled out to join his teammates wearing a walking boot and using a cane as his crutch.
In an expression of support for Tejada and simultaneously of fury for Utley, Mets fans let out a bellowing cheer as Tejada's name was called on the PA system.

Earlier in the day, manager Terry Collins told reporters that Tejada's broken right fibula was a "real clean break" that wouldn't require pins or any form of surgery.
The 25-year-old infielder has been replaced with shortstop prospect Matt Reynolds on the Mets' NLDS roster.
