(SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors will shoot for their 50th win of the season when they pay a visit to the Phoenix Suns Monday night.
The Atlanta Hawks are gunning for win No. 50 tonight versus Sacramento.
Golden State has won three in a row and 13 of their last 17 games, and disposed of the Los Angeles Clippers with a 106-98 triumph on Sunday. The Warriors scored 30 points in the third quarter and allowed 30 in the fourth, but were able to keep Los Angeles at bay.
Draymond Green led the hosts with 23 points, Klay Thompson scored 21 and Shaun Livingston also scored 21 points. Stephen Curry was limited to 12 points on just 3-of-9 shooting for the Warriors, who shot 50 percent from the floor and notched 22 points off 18 LA turnovers.
Curry treated the Oracle Arena faithful to a highlight-reel play early in the third, putting the ball around his back as he dribbled through four defenders and stepping back for a 3-pointer to push Golden State's margin to 65-52.
"Nothing he does surprises me anymore," Golden State coach Steve Kerr said.
Golden State made 40-of-80 shot attempts and completed a perfect three-game homestand.
The Warriors are 22-10 on the road and will host Detroit on Wednesday. They are 5 1/2 games ahead of Memphis for the West's top seed.
Phoenix will compete in the Valley of the Sun the next five games and nine of the upcoming 10 contests. It is 17-13 at US Airways Center.
The Suns went 2-2 on their recent road trip, which culminated with Saturday's 89-79 setback to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Markieff Morris had 16 points to lead the Suns, who had won two straight and four of six.
"They made shots. We didn't," said Suns guard Eric Bledsoe. "They got good looks and were playing great defense."
Cleveland led by as much as 32 points in the third quarter, then scored just nine in the fourth to account for the slimmer margin of victory.
P.J. Tucker and Gerald Green scored 11 points apiece for the Suns, who are 2 1/2 games off the eighth and final postseason berth in the West.
Phoenix will also welcome Minnesota, Atlanta, New York and New Orleans to town on this five-game homestand. It will visit Houston one week from Saturday before opening a four-game stay in the desert.
The Suns and Warriors have split two meetings this season and are scheduled to play again April 2 in Oakland. The Pacific Division foes have split the past six games in this series.
Phoenix has won the last three encounters at home.
