Know a good candidate for men's basketball coach at American University? Want the job yourself?
The university put out a statement Friday that reads like something from the classifieds, asking for "nominations, recommendations, and expressions of interest" as it searches for a successor to Jeff Jones, who left this month for Old Dominion.
The university says any suggestions should go to The Parker Executive Search Firm, the Atlanta-based organization chosen to conduct the coaching search.
Such a public appeal isn't the norm for a Division I basketball program looking for a coach.
Anyone interested should act fast. The school says it will be a "thorough search" but that it will "move swiftly."
The Eagles went 10-20 this season and lost in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League tournament.
