Eden Prairie, MN – Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian finale against the Bears despite suffering a concussion over the weekend.
"Christian made it back today and finished practice well ... and the plan is for him to start on Sunday," Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said.
Ponder, a rookie, was taken out of Saturday's game against the Redskins in the third quarter after suffering a concussion, but saw a neurologist Tuesday and was cleared to play.
He had a "slight headache" Saturday night, but was feeling fine by Sunday, the quarterback said. He said it was important to be able to play in the last game of the season.
"Especially for me, personally, I want to finish strong and have some momentum going into the offseason," said Ponder.
He has passed for 1,825 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 10 games for Minnesota this season, including nine starts.
The Vikings (3-12) beat the Redskins despite losing Ponder and running back Adrian Peterson, who is out for the season with a torn ACL and MCL.
