Sandro Carissimo scored 14 points to lead Vermont to a 61-47 victory over Hartford on Thursday night, the Catamounts' sixth consecutive victory.

The Catamounts held their second straight opponent to less than 50 points and are giving up an average of 51 points a game during their streak.

Vermont led throughout, but the Hawks, who have lost three straight games, cut the deficit to 34-29 on Milton Burton's jumper with 35 seconds left in the first half.

The Catamounts opened the second half on an 11-2 run and led by at least 10 points the rest of the way, despite shooting only 39.1 percent from the field (18 of 46) in the game.

Genesis Maciel and Ross Erickson led Hartford with nine points each.
