Manchester, England – Manchester United announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to a deal with Arsenal for striker Robin van Persie.
The Dutch international is now set to travel to Manchester on Thursday to finalize personal terms and undergo a medical before reportedly signing a four-year contract.
Van Persie revealed this summer that he would not be extending his contract with Arsenal, which has just 12 months remaining.
The announcement instantly sparked interest from United, Manchester City and Juventus, with Sir Alex Ferguson having won out with a bid believed to be in the region of $30 million.
The 29-year-old led the Premiership with 30 goals last season, finishing three ahead of his future United teammate, Wayne Rooney.
