University of Southern California incoming freshman wide receiver Steven Mitchell will miss the 2013 season after tearing ligaments in his right knee during voluntary workouts, the school announced on Friday.

While the news of the injury might not directly effect the Trojans, the team's wide receiver corps is now down to just five scholarship players with Marqise Lee, Nelson Agholor, De'Von Flournoy, Victor Blackwell and Darreus Rogers. Fellow wide out George Farmer injured his knee during spring practice.

Lee, a consensus All-America, led USC and set Pac-12 single-season records last year with 118 receptions for 1,721 yards. He also had 14 touchdowns.

Agholor, the next most-experienced receiver, however, caught just 19 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns last fall, while Flournoy and Blackwell combined for just two receptions.
